Perfect location

We stayed 7 nights on HB, end of August – beginning of September. Managed to grab one of the last available rooms — and at a good price too :)

There were three adults and one little kid, so we booked two rooms. Quick report: soundproofing — totally fine.

The food wasn’t very diverse, but we’re not picky eaters. Also, the value-for-money ratio was absolutely fair. We heard they sometimes serve prawns, but we never managed to catch them ))
All drinks at dinner — including water — are paid. But apparently, that’s a “thing” in Croatian hotels.

The biggest advantage? The location — in a pine park right by the sea. The smell — like in Crimea! And there’s always a shady spot to escape the heat. When choosing the hotel, we were specifically looking for a place where we could stay outdoors without baking under the sun. This one hit the mark 100%. The Makarska Riviera is a real gem!

In the evenings, we personally missed a bit of a vibe, but at least there was no “boom-boom” under the windows :) It’s super quiet around the hotel (a bit too quiet, honestly), but there’s a long promenade where you can walk all the way to nearby towns. Plenty of bars with lounge music or live cover bands.

The sea? Absolute bliss! I was worried our 5-year-old wouldn’t like the pebbles, but turns out all the kids found something to do on the beach.

As for the downside — the so-called “parking” (basically just roadside spots) has very limited space. By some miracle, we always found a spot, but at checkout they still charged us per night — whether we managed to park or not.

Prices in the only supermarket on the coast are higher than in Western Europe. They say there’s a Lidl up on the main road with more reasonable prices, but we didn’t go — didn’t want to risk losing our parking spot ))
By the way, Croatian highways are pricey but flawless. And the views along the way — simply stunning! If you’re traveling by car, go explore the country or at least some nearby areas.
